Things to remember:
- Check your university portal regularly for any additional information they might require from you. (i.e.) SAT scores, current grades, etc.
- You must send your SAT and/or ACT scores to colleges your applying to through www.collegeboard.com or www.actstudent.org!
- Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and deposit – you should have committed to a college of your choice by May 1st
· Check financial aid status – you must accept/decline your final aid (grants, loans, work study) by May 1st
· Register, study, and take required placement/assessment exams (math and/or English) as soon as you can.
· Submit other necessary documents such as housing contract/deposit as required by the university.
· Note: Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), housing contract, and financial aid acceptance must be done separately (clicking YES on SIR does not mean you have accepted the financial aid award as well).
If you are attending a community college next Fall:
· Apply in the Spring!
· Register, study, and take required placement/assessment exams (math and/or English).
Some colleges offer exams on walk-in basis.
You must bring a photo ID with you to the exams.
· Online Orientation (if required by the college).
· New Student Advisement Session (if required by the college).
· Meet with a(n) counselor/advisor at community college: to make sure you register for appropriate courses for the upcoming semester based on your academic goals and placement/assessment exam results.
